Product
A less expensive, cardioid only version of the AT4050. Audio Technica's AT4033aSM is a popular microphone due to its very low price versus sound quality, with a simple, clear presentation due to a flat response and a fairly tight cardioid pattern thatcan hold its own against some of the slightly more expensive mics. The mic is a back electret design rather than a true condenser, and has an 80Hz rumble filter and a 10dB pad switch, for up to 150dBSPL. Highly recommended for professional recording and critical applications in broadcast and live-sound. Its symmetrical, transformerless electronics produce clean output signals and an exceptional transient response with a floating-construction element to provide isolation from noise and vibration. Additional features are a gold-plated, specially-contoured, aged diaphragm and switchable 80 Hz hi-pass filter and 10 dB pad (includes AT8441 shock mount).
Features:
- A strong up-front presence characterizes the sonic signature of this versatile pro-audio classic
- Transformerless circuitry virtually eliminates low-frequency distortion and provides superior correlation of high-speed transients
- Precision-machined, nickel-plated brass, acoustic element baffle provides enhanced element stability and optimal sensitivity
- The 2-micron-thick, vapor-deposited gold diaphragm undergoes a five-step aging process so that the optimum characteristics achieved remain constant over years of use
- Floating-construction capsule assembly provides isolation from noise and vibration
- Open acoustical environment of the symmetrical housing assembly minimizes unwanted internal reflections
- State-of-the-art surface-mount electronics ensure compliance with A-T's stringent consistency and reliability standards Custom shock mount provides superior isolation
