Application
Bass drum, piano, grand piano
The Piano is an expressive instrument with a wide dynamic range and multiple sound sources coming from the strings and frame into which it is constructed. All of these subtle sounds and nuances have to be captured to make the Piano sound natural and to transfer the emotion with which it is played. The Opus 51 is purpose built for this type of instrument. Using the ?boundary effect? it captures direct and reflected sounds from all parts of the instrument in perfect balance and at an equal level taking some of the guesswork out of microphone placement. As the Opus 51 effortlessly captures low frequency audio as well as the
high frequency detail it also can be used perfectly for Kick Drums.
